Another release and a big step forward for Parsix GNU/Linux project. Parisx GNU/Linux 0.50 is built from scratch using Knoppix 3.8.1 and uses the latest Debian Sarge packages (May 1 2005). There are many new features and additions like UnionFS that allows full read/write on CD, users can add/remove packages while running on CD, NTFS read/write support, Kernel 2.6.11, Gnome 2.8.3, OpenOffice.org 1.1.3 preconfigured for RTL languages, Gimp 2.2.6, Firefox 1.0.3, Thunderbird 1.0.2 with Offline, BiDiUimail and Enigmail extensions, Abiword 2.2.7 word processor with plugins, GQView 2.0.0 image viewer, Gaim 1.2.1, Kino 0.7.5 video editor with plugins, xFarDic 0.6.1 English-Persian dictionary, Gnomebaker 0.3 CD/DVD Creator, Gparted 0.0.8 partition editor with NTFS resizing support, Synaptic 0.56 package manager, SWAT 3.0.14a for easy file/print sharing, Improved installer and a new background image.
