Post subject: How to open rar file with file-roller?  PostPosted: Sep 04, 2008 - 05:07 PM

Hi, everyone, I just installed Parsix today, ( I used to use DreamLinux, but it crashed several times last week then I decide to change.)

In fact, I really love Parsix, it's really a lovely system.

A simple question: how can I extract .rar file with file-roller? I think I can extract it with no problem with file-roller in DreamLinux and some other distros, but why can't I open it in Parsix?

I prefer not install another archive manager, does anyone know how to open it with file-roller?

Or how do you guys open .rar files?
Thanks a lot.

there is also an alternative called unrar-free

Quote:
unrar-free
Unrar can extract files from .rar archives. Can't handle some archives in
the RAR 3.0 format, only the non-free "unrar" package can do that.
