I have been running Parsix for a little while now(r0) and did a wipe and install of r1 to see if I could get the Keyboard shorcuts to fully work.
This proved to be more of an issue than was expected.
Apparently the Xorg config for the Intel 965GM chipset is borked and I am stuck looking at a 1024x768 login window and a 1024x768 screen. granted the panels can be moved so they are outside the affected area and then they show fine, but any maximized window is only 1024x768. This is getting really annoying, it was fixed by an update in the previous release as I had the same issue at first. To make it worse the Screens and Graphics applet(?) says it is starting and then just quits... ugh... log files here I come.
If anyone knows the "quick-fix" please let me know. Thanks! |

Applets quiting? hmm... odd.
Let's sort out resolution issue first; Did you run "dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg" as root? If not, please do so and follow the wizard. |

| What's the supported resolution by your monitor? Did you try to use xscreen boot option on live CD mode? |

As an update I did try to rebuild to Xorg.conf file no luck.
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad R61 Intel GM/E965 at 1280x800.
I am going to try to reboot to the live cd and see if I can copy over the correct Xorg.conf. If I remember right it happens on the LiveCd too.
//EDIT//
I am typing this from the LiveCD<Widescreen 1280> now and it is still stuck at 1024x768 and the Admin>Screens and Graphics interface is still broken
This is the reason I quit openSuse.... |

That's strange, I have installed Parsix to one widescreen laptop and it worked nicely.
Do you have any other Live CD from where you could copy correct xorg.conf settings from?
If you find correct xorg.conf where screen resolution is ok, could you post it here? |

What I don't get is that it was working in r0, I think I may re-install the older version and then try to copy over the other xorg.conf
I also need to look at the change logs as to any changes with the Xorg versions. |

There will be no reinstalling for me for a bit until I get a new power supply adapter. Apparently my dog didn't like me using my notebook....
I did do a search and there is apparently a large issue with the intel drivers for the x3100 GMA chipset |

| Just a note that didn't work either, I have had to switch as this has become even more annoying like when the auto-complete of Firefox or the like is loaded in the middle of the page instead of the entries where it is supposed to be. I do believe it is a X11 problem though as the issue is that the display will not use the whole screen even though the xorg.conf is set to use 1280x800. I know ubuntu has this fixed is there a possible "port" in the works? |

| And the shortcut keys are still broken, along with the resolution manager even on completely different hardware..... Also is there a way to make Firefox use the english language as a spell checker and not another like it is currently even though I tried to manually delete the dictionaries and re-installed them?? Thanks! |

| I don't know about your other problems as I don't have them but spell check Is easy open synaptic remove all language entries in Iceweasel and add English UK that's the entry above English us, then any other language you need, do the same in Aspell EN as default remove all you don't want, that way it can not revert back to the default us/ir. In xorg change your keyboard to your language and save. you should then have your default language and keyboard hopefully. |
